Influence of an Iron-Age Ruler:

Edifying New Biography Reveals the Complete Third and Last King of Israel

Archie Roy and Margaret Roy’s King Solomon’s Empire offers a rare glimpse into the complex and controversial life of the wisest and wealthiest king to have ever lived. Broken down into four sections, the authors cover his family origins, his writings and place within the Bible, his libertarian acceptance of idolatry and his infamous polyamory. The final section brings readers up to the present day and explains how Solomon still inspires today; and Jerusalem’s plans to rebuild the Temple of Solomon when circumstances permit

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

UNITED KINGDOM – Published on 18th October 2022, King Solomon himself would be pleased with how authors Archie and Margaret Roy depict this intriguing, complex and hugely significant third and final king of Israel.

Holding an important place in Jewish, Christian and Islamic traditions, this new biography benefits from a far reaching audience, all of whom will appreciate the authors’ commitment to covering all aspects of Solomon’s life, and not shying from his excessive polyamory and pagan worship.

The man considered by many to be responsible for the ‘golden age of Israel’ Solomon is one of religion’s most mysterious and complex characters; and King Solomon’s Empire is a significant and substantive recounting of an Iron-age king whose influence is still palpable today.

Synopsis:

King Solomon is known as the wisest and richest man to have ever lived, but who was this man really? Even though we read his words in the Bible, this man who was the son of "the man after God's own heart" remains a mystery to this day. Even his death is veiled in conspiracy theories. How could a man who was granted his greatest wish by God Himself be so enamoured with the pleasures of this world-hungry for sex, power, and more wealth?

In King Solomon's Empire, Archie and Margaret Roy take an in-depth look into the life of the wise king and the kingdom he led. Through this study, the reader will come to understand the time in which King Solomon ruled, enter into the temple that he built for his God, and follow his path to a life of "striving after wind." While the mystery still remains unsolved, perhaps the reader will come to learn some lessons from the man and avoid some of the pitfalls in their own life, as there is truly "nothing new under the sun."

The authors say:

“Our book should appeal to anyone wanting to find out more about King Solomon - therefore across diverse and international Christian audiences, bible scholars, teachers and preachers, theology students, the Jewish community and potentially other types of readers interested in Solomon such as people interested in the occult or otherwise searching for truth.

“It will also appeal to readers interested in the historic Middle East and archaeology in the region focusing on the end of the Bronze Age and start of the Iron Age, and those interested in applying psychological techniques to the analysis of historical figures. The book considers a number of psychoanalytic and psychological questions such as the effect of Solomon's family of origin on his personality and decision-making, the effects of his different frames of mind on his writing and the all-too commonly observed 'Solomon's Paradox' - the extent to which a person will not themselves follow their very good advice given to others.”
