National Prayer: In God We Trust

Image
National Prayer: In God We Trust by Teresa J. Herbic He makes peace in your borders. Psalm 147:14 ESV Dear Heavenly Father, We thank You for our country. We praise You for the freedoms we have and the many blessings You have bestowed upon us. We thank You for the orphans in our foster care system and Those in urban areas in need of Your nurture and rescue. We pray that our policy makers will consider them often in directives to guide and assemble this nation in prayer In the name of Jesus Christ, through Your blood, We bind and rebuke all abuse and wrong doings. We pray for all child welfare and fostering laws To be of You and in goodwill for the children. And to embody the goodness of Christ Jesus in national prayer....

Older Child Adoption: A Quiet Heart

Image
Older Child Adoption: A Quiet Heart by Teresa J. Herbic God is our refuge. Psalm 62:8, NIV Sometimes we pour out our hearts to God crying out for an answer. Vienna found herself at an orphanage by age six. Her mom couldn’t care for her due to major alcohol and drug addictions. As years went by, Vienna felt utterly rejected and quietly lived in turmoil. I beg of You, please God, hear my prayer!” In the days that followed, the orphanage director called Vienna to the office. He informed her about a fa

Comfort to Your Very Soul by Teresa J. Herbic Like cold water to a weary soul is good news from a distant land .  Proverbs 25:25, NIV Adopting a child from overseas feels like a dream. We first saw our child as a waiting child and attached to his adorable face right away. The image of his cheeks, his reflective eyes, and the little blue hood snuggled over his precious head would not leave our minds. One of our recent adoptive families chose a child similarly in the orphan adoption process. Atana is a six-year old bright-eyed, handsome boy from Bulgaria with an infectious smile. When I learned of the family’s choice, I felt overjoyed. I realized that this child would be the recipient of overflowing love from an incredible, God-centered family. If he does not know Christ, I believe someday he will. If he does not feel loved, I trust he will be elated with his new home in gladness. The family in return will feel God’s hand at work satisfying their hearts and souls with His good pleasur
